\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFolsom High School just opened their vanguard open plan collaborative learning classroom,<\/strong>bringing accolades from students, administrators and faculty. SMARTdesks Pi Collaboration Tables won\nthe favor of the Folsom educators and IT Integrators, and the flexibility of the Pi furniture design is\ninspiring the learning process.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn order to teach computer science, computer game design, and robotics effectively, teacher\nJean Cavanaugh knew that she had to upgrade her traditional computer lab outfitted with outdated\ncomputers and rows of static desks to something that would allow her students to excel. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSMARTdesks Pi Collaboration Tables<\/strong> equipped with flipIT monitor displays enable the Folsom\nHigh School students to collaborate with their peers, use their computers, draw sketches and build\nprototypes simultaneously. Each desktop offers ample space to use print and modeling materials next\nto a computer screen. Students are currently using this additional workspace to program electronic\ncode while assembling NAO robots from Legos kits.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCavanaugh arranged the flexible Pi Collaboration Tables into learning pods, each featuring four individual workstations. The tables\u2019 arrangement can easily be changed to form circles or rows to\naccommodate specific teaching and learning styles. Additionally, SMARTdesks\u2019 mobile, height\nadjustable Qstar Computer Table<\/strong> serves as the new teacher\u2019s desk, and Cavanaugh can give\ninstructions to students while standing or sitting anywhere in the room. She can roll the Qstar over to the learning pods and help her students with their projects at any time. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCavanaugh said, \u201cWhat the SMARTdesks allow me to do, for the first time in 20 years, is to get\nrid of \u2018the front of the room.\u2019 I love being able to teach from any part of my classroom and the\nmovement and flow of the extra space around the desks allow me to get to the students quicker than\nin my old lab. He said, \u201cI\u2019ve had Ms. Cavanaugh for three years\nnow. Before the changes to her classroom, it was dull and boring \u2013 nothing special.
